About Louis Schofield
Professor Louis Schofield is an International Research Scholar of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and co-founder of Ancora Pharmaceuticals Inc. He shares the Direc-torship of QTHA with his ongoing research work at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute.

Professor Sandra Harding, Vice Chancellor of James Cook University where QTHA is headquartered says, "we are delighted that Louis Schofield has accepted the Director-ship of QTHA. He is a world class researcher across a wide range of fields and has connections with research institutes and funding organisations across the world."
A recognised authority in the immunology and pathogenesis of infectious diseases, Louis has research programs covering basic molecular sciences, product development and commercialisation, epidemiology and public health.

He brings to the appointment a wealth of funding from sources including the Gates Foundation, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the National Institutes of Health, the World Health Organization, the National Health and Medical Research Council and the European Union.
