QTHA starts operations

The Queensland Tropical Health Alliance brings together researchers across James Cook University, Queensland Institute of Medical Research, Griffith University and Queensland University of Technology with the aim of reducing the burden of tropical diseases and improving the health of all people living in the tropics.  Six research projects have been endorsed already, in areas ranging from using bio-molecular interaction technology for antimalarial target identification, a Queensland-wide web-based system for reporting surveillance data on vector-borne diseases, and apical membrane proteins as targets for a schistosomiasis vaccine.
